"....teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

The Christian life is one of the continual hearing and learning of God's Word. This is what God wills for us in the third Commandment:
"We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Words, but gladly hear and learn it."
This is because it is from God's Word that faith is created and strengthened, and so also is our life in Christ.
Mt. Calvary offers many ways to provide and encourage this Christian formation.

The Importance of Christian Formation

Christian formation begins in Holy Baptism, but the number one factor in teaching the faith through childhood and the forming of godly habits in the Christian life of the home. The teaching of the faith is the highest calling of the Christian parent.

The Greatest Commandment - Deuteronomy 6:6-7

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Build Your House on the Rock - Luke 6:47-49

"Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation.
When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."
