BTC is a single Saturday morning session offered in the spring and fall for members and guests of all ages. It focuses on topics that are theological, practical, historical, liturgical, biblical, musical, or catechetical. It begins with Matins in the sanctuary. Then Pastor leads a presentation and discussion in the social hall for the adults. The children meet in the Sunday school room to explore the topic through books, music, art, and activities. Snacks and lunch are often provided. Some past topics include The Reformation, The Church Year Calendar, The Giving of the Law (Ten Commandments), Bach, Prayer in the Home, and Symbols and Art of the Church.
The next session is planned for
Saturday, October 25, from 9:00 am - 11:30 pm,
with the theme,
"The Christian in Times of Sickness and Need."
We know that sin, suffering, sickness, and death are all the result of the Fall into sin.
How does the Christian respond to times of sickness and suffering?
What can you, as a Christian, do for your family and friends when they suffer these afflictions?
How is the Church there to support the Christian at such times?
All ages!
Pastor Gerike will lead the adults in a discussion to answer these questions.
Children ages 3 through 8th grade will learn about praying for our earthly needs, how God might answer such prayers, and how they can care for their brothers and sisters in Christ in time of need,
through a lesson and activities.
